Letter to the editor: Halloween change

I got this a couple hours ago:

Halloween has been rescheduled to Friday, Nov. 2 from 4 p.m. to 8:00pm.

Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown has obtained approval from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s office to hold our township’s Halloween as scheduled. We wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween!

And I’ve been angry ever since!

Mayor Randy Brown, you are not taking all our children into consideration when making this decision. We here in Woodstream still do not have power. I am told other neighborhoods around Evans don’t either.

How am I suppose to tell my daughter “no, you can’t trick-or-treat because it’s not safe to walk around your own neighborhood, because it has no power!”

Or, am I suppose to put her in the car take her to a strange neighborhood to trick-or-treat?

This is ridiculous. At least Christie’s plan gives us a couple more days to hope and pray we get power.

I’d like you, Mayor Randy Brown, to call my 8-year-old and tell her she can’t trick-or-treat, please!
