On Thursday, Sept. 27, a live debate took place between Lenape High School students Will Peischel, representing President Obama and Peter Konchak, representing Governor Romney.
Tom Tamburello moderated this debate.
Students watched the debate streamed live in their homerooms.
Students also actively engaged in the debate by texting in their questions for the candidates’ representatives.
More than 432 students texted in questions, which were filtered and some of which were presented to the candidates.
Will and Pete addressed a variety of issues, from foreign policy to the economy to the national debt to college loans to education policies to social issues.
Through this debate, Will and Pete clearly showcased the policies and beliefs of the two main party candidates and students throughout Lenape High School are now better prepared and informed.
Bill Lange, Eric Krastek, Jaime Fauver, Jennifer Gaffney, Gerry Boggs, and Michelle Kaighn organized this debate.
Students at Lenape were to vote on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 3 to Oct. 4 and the winner of the Lenape Presidential Election was to be announced on Friday, Oct. 5.
