Concert series coming to a Voorhees park near you
Mayor’s Message: Michael Mignogna
The Voorhees Township Committee is pleased to welcome the Summer of 2012 with our Annual “Summer Twilight Series,” with five free events scheduled for the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park.
The first show is Thursday, June 14 (rain date June 17) and will feature the return of Bruce in the USA, the World’s #1 tribute to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. This high energy musical experience has drawn thousands to our Summer Twilight Series in its two prior appearances. The late great Clarence Clemens called it the greatest Springsteen tribute he’d ever seen.
The tradition continues on Thursday, July 12 with another return engagement featuring Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles. Enjoy the timeless music of one of the most famous bands of the 70s.
The fun continues on Thursday, Aug. 2 (rain date Aug. 3) when a group of local talented artists performs some new musical sounds. Cocktail Party Phenomenon is a band that includes a full horn section and a mini-choir of incredibly talented vocalists.
On Thursday, Aug. 16 (rain date Aug. 17) Voorhees welcomes another rock legend for the first time to our Summer Series when Evolution comes to town. This Journey tribute band recreates the history and hit songs of the legendary group.
The Summer Twilight Series concludes with our Annual Movie Night in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 15 (rain date Sept. 22). The students in the Voorhees Schools will vote on their favorite movie to be shown on the “big screen.”
The township’s Summer Twilight Series provides free fun for all ages. All events are at Connolly Park on Centennial Boulevard with plenty of free parking. The series is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors: The Mall at Voorhees Town Center, Rizzieri Studio Salon, Cornerstone Bank, Hardenbergh Insurance Group, DiMeglio Construction, The Hampton Inn, ERI Engineers, The Voorhees Sun and The Wire Newspapers. Please thank these sponsors by supporting their businesses.
For more information or in case of inclement weather, call the Summer Series hotline at (856) 882-SHOW.
Come out with your chairs and blankets or just sit on the “Great Lawn” and enjoy the shows.
All shows are free and start at 7:30 p.m.
