The 2012 state primary elections will be held on Tuesday, June 5, and at the local level, three Democrats and three Republicans will run unopposed, giving them a direct ticket to the November general election.
The Moorestown Township Council has three expiring seats this year.
Councilmen Michael Testa and Greg Gallo will both see their seats expire and both have not filed for reelection.
Mayor John Button will also see his seat expire, but has chosen to run as an independent — not as a Republican.
Republican candidates Phil Garwood, Victoria Napolitano and Pete Palko will be the GOP’s candidates.
The Moorestown Republican Municipal Committee backed all three of the newcomer candidates, opting not to back Button’s candidacy.
Democratic candidates Greg Newcomer, Brian Sattinger and Mark Hines will run unopposed on the Democratic side.
The Moorestown Democratic Committee backed the three candidates.
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on primary day, June 5. Visit the Moorestown Township website at www.moorestown.nj.us for a complete list of polling locations.
