Why steal toothpaste and deodorant?

The following items can be found on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:

• An officer found a 22-year-old female from Laurel Springs passed out in her car at the intersection of Kings Highway East and Tanner Street on April 29 at 3:58 a.m. She was removed from her car, tested, arrested, and transported to headquarters.

She was charged with reckless driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

• An employee of a bank on Haddon Avenue reported to police on April 26 at 5:02 p.m. that a 27-year-old female of Lawnside tried to cash an obviously altered check for $2,500.

She was charged with having forged documents in her possession.

• A CVS employee from Kings Highway East reported to police on April 25 at 10:22 a.m. that a suspect stole deodorant and toothpaste from the store and then fled. An officer found the suspect at the PATCO station, who then admitted to stealing the deodorant.

The surveillance tapes from the store showed that the suspect also stole the toothpaste from the CVS. He was also found to have controlled dangerous substances paraphernalia on his person as well.

He was arrested, charged, and transported to headquarters.
