Can history be made in Moorestown?

The Moorestown Friends School varsity History Bowl team of senior Ted Barrett (Mount Laurel), juniors Spencer Bard (Lumberton), Joe Kiernan (Haddonfield) and Kristina Shah (Moorestown), qualified for the National History Bowl in Washington D.C. thanks to their performance on Feb. 25 at the New Jersey History Bowl at Princeton University. The team went 4–1 in competition and were quarterfinalists, earning their trip to D.C.

In addition, Joe Kiernan qualified for the National History Bee thanks to his individual performance in this separate individual competition.

Coaches/advisors for the teams are History Department Chair Clark Thomson and Upper School History Teacher Judy van Tijn. The National History Bowl and Bee will be held April 28–29 in Washington D.C.

Moorestown Friends School is a day school founded by the Religious Society of Friends (also known as Quakers) in 1785.
