Cherry Hill police search nets scrap metalĀ arrest

Over the weekend, the Cherry Hill Police re-canvassed local scrap metal dealers in an effort to obtain any further investigative leads on recent incidents.

While at the R. Fanelle and Son Recycling yard, located at 1466 Ferry Avenue in Camden, detectives uncovered information, which ultimately led to the arrest of an employee of the Locustwood Cemetery.

A subsequent interview of the subject led to a full confession of over 200 thefts of flower urns from gravesites. The subject, a 23-year-old male, was arrested and charged with one combined Theft charge, along with a possession of a controlled dangerous substance charge, to wit numerous Percocet pills found on his person uponĀ arrest.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 17, at CJP Court in Camden. Bail is set atĀ $35,000.
