When you wish upon a…Hero
Voorhees-based Wish Upon a Hero Foundation (WUAHF), a non-profit organization that helps support the granting of wishes to those in need, was one of five national charities honored recently at the first-annual Chase American Giving Awards — a nationally televised NBC prime-time program.
WUAHF received a $125,000 prize which it will use to launch a Hero Response Team (HERO) program, which will make a difference in communities nationwide. When natural disaster strikes, HERO will deploy to affected communities, working with local authorities to provide relief. Comprised of members trained in emergency response, they will help residents post their needs online.
