Two Medford Township residents have been charged with setting up — and reporting — a fake burglary in their home, Phillyburbs.com reported Wednesday.
Police said Tuesday that Jennifer Dent, 20, and Mitch Sparks, 21, lied last August, when they said their home had been burglarized and ransacked.
They reported $500 worth of electronics stolen.
That story fell apart when investigators found out Dent and Sparks sold one of the stolen items to a Game Stop store, police said.
Authorities also said other property owned by Dent turned out never to have been stolen.
The two have been charged with theft and fabricating evidence. Dent was also charged with making false statements.
