Riding for a great cause in Evesham Township

On Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Cancer Awards ceremony, in Cherry Hill, Team Evesham was recognized as the Rookie Team of the year. In addition, the team also received recognition as a Bronze level team. The team raised more than $10,000 for this ride.

Sandy Student (co-captain), Laurie Zerumski, Walt Rosewitski, Sam Student (co-captain), Kristi Thies, Lisa Caramandi, Ross Polinow, all Team Evesham members, were honored for the local cycling team’s efforts to raise money for various charities in the South Jersey area.

Receiving three awards including the top place Friend and Family team with 112 members raising over $81,000. The team originally started off with only eight riders in 2008. Now, Team Evesham has about 113 riders who participate in the various events with the team, Student said.

Team Evesham was the forth highest fundraising team out of 500 total teams for the 2011 city to shore MS Ride.
