Lock your doors in Moorestown

The Moorestown Police Department is investigating three residential burglaries that occurred in the Golfview Road and Park Drive area since Oct. 19. The timing on the burglaries ranges from during the day, evening, to nighttime. The burglars have been targeting jewelry and flatware that is hard to trace and easily sold for scrap value.

On Oct. 19, residents returned home to a residence in the 700 block of Golfview Road after being at work and school during the day to find forced entry through a rear casement window. Jewelry was taken and a parcel post delivery was missing from the front step.

On Nov. 2, during the latest burglary occurring in the 300 block of Park Drive at approximately 11:15 p.m., police responded to burglar alarm and found that entry was gained by smashing out a rear window. The resident’s audible burglar alarm deterred the burglar(s) from completing their crime. The resident was not home at the time.

Residents are urged to be vigilant reporting any suspicious activity to the police department without delay by calling 856–234–8300. Crime prevention tips are available on the township website under the police tab.
