Access to clean water is a global problem and Bret Harte Elementary School is planning on being part of the solution. The school is teaming up with two organizations for its first partnership with H2O for Life and A-WASH (Ambassadors Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) to do some serious work.
Bret Harte will be raising money to provide a school, St. Andre Catholic School of Pouma in Cameroon, with clean water, hand washing stations and improved latrines.
Studies have found that it is not enough just to provide clean water to them.
This year the annual Hartewalk will be a “Walk for Water.” All donations raised will go towards this project.
Come out on Oct. 23 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. behind Bret Harte Elementary School, 1909 Queen Anne Road.
