Long car chase nails a woman suspected of robbing same bank twice

A 45-year-old woman robbed the same bank in Stratford twice in two weeks before getting captured in a multi-town car chase, police said.

Denise R. Taylor of Lawnside was arrested Monday afternoon after a run through Magnolia, Lawnside, Tavistock, Cherry Hill and Ramblewood, and a crash in the woods by Mount Laurel.

Stratford Police initially investigated a hold-up alarm at the Bank of America on Warwick Road at 2:42 p.m. They learned that the suspect was a heavy-set black woman armed with a silver handgun and driving a white Mercury Mountaineer.

Minutes later, Somerdale Police spotted the SUV at White Horse Pike and Somerdale Road. Police said she fled from them down White Horse Pike, eventually flying onto Route 295 northbound.

She got near Exit 36 before crashing and getting captured.

Stratford Police said she robbed that same bank on Sept. 19.
