Fire district seeking volunteers

Interested in volunteering?

  • Does the idea of being a fire fighter interest you?
  • Ever thought about help others within your community?
  • All training is free!

Including instruction in fire fighting, emergency medical technician, and technical rescue.

All that is asked is for your time and dedication to help make the Voorhees Fire District even better!

There are 39 volunteer firefighters and officers who staff the two fire stations from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights the crews sleep in station from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and respond to all fire calls. They also handle all special assignments such as: the township picnic, movie night at Connelly Park, fire prevention activities, Santa Claus detail and many other special assignments.

Meeting nights are the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. Drills and training are held on the second, third, and fourth Monday nights.
