Explore the Black Run Preserve

Join Evesham and Cherokee teachers and students, Environmental Commission members, and Pinelands Preservation Alliance for a guided hike into the “Black Run Preserve,” Evesham’s newest 1300-acre open space of Pine Barrens forest, wetlands, old cranberry bogs and streams.

Tours begin at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16.

The unique Pine Barrens property holds hidden natural beauty for folks of all ages to discover, and has the potential for numerous hiking and biking trails and more. Guided tours will be approximately two-and-a-half hours in length and will cover three miles on sand roads and trails.

The meeting location for the tour will be the Evans Mill Pond Parking Area, off Kettle Run Road.

To reach the meeting area, take Route 73 to the Marlton Parkway. Travel east on the Marlton Parkway for approximately one-and-a-half miles until the traffic light at Tomlinson Mill Road. Make a right onto Tomlinson Mill Road and then after travelling approximately 600-feet make a quick right into the parking lot at Evans Mill Pond, just before the bridge and spillway.

Wear sensible shoes (old sneakers or boots). Dress for the weather. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended. Bring a snack and water.
