Alleged purse thief turns himself in

Adam Riggio turned himself in to Mount Laurel Police on June 24 and was committed to Burlington County Jail pending court appearance.

Riggio is accused of forcibly taking a purse from the shoulder of a customer at the Shoprite on Nixon Drive and knocking her and her 6 year-old son to theĀ ground.

The incident occurred on June 23 at 9:31Ā p.m.

Riggio, age 23, of the 400 block of Parker Ave. Moorestown, was pursued by Mount Laurel Police to SH 73 where the pursuit was terminated. Moorestown Police resumed the pursuit on SH 38 until Riggio abandoned theĀ vehicle.

A K-9 search by the Evesham Police K-9 was negative. A warrant was issued for robbery and additional charges areĀ pending.
