The fire department was busy over the weekend

Evesham Fire-Rescue responded to 65 East Route 70, Franco’s Restaurant for a reported building fire on Saturday morning May 14 at approximately 1 a.m. hours. Fire units arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a one-story middle-of-the-row strip mall. Firefighters entered the structure and suppressed the fire located in the kitchen and dining area. Heavy fire and smoke damaged the restaurant. Evesham Fire-Rescue limited fire damage to Franco’s, however, adjoining businesses suffered minor smoke damage. No injuries were reported. The Evesham Fire-Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

On Sunday evening May 15 at approximately 7 p.m., Evesham Fire-Rescue responded to the 100 block of Maureen Court for a reported structure fire. Fire units arrived to find a shed and fence area on fire with exposures to adjoining sheds. Firefighters quickly contained the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire suspicious in nature and is under investigation by the Evesham Fire-Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office and the Evesham Police Department.
