The Burlington County Health Department, along with the Burlington and Camden County Cancer Coalitions, are planning an evening of hope, joy and laughter this month.
The event, called Dancing with the Survivors, is scheduled for May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Kennedy Center in Willingboro.
This inspirational event aims give cancer survivors and their loved ones the opportunity to share experiences and enjoy a night of dinner and dancing.
“We encourage Burlington County cancer survivors to attend this wonderful celebration of their lives and of the incredible journey they have undergone in their fight against this devastating disease,” said Burlington County Freeholder, Mary Ann O’Brien.
The American Cancer Society defines a survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer — from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. This event will recognize the significant strides made in the fight against cancer, as well as applaud the resilience of the human spirit.
Survivors of all types of cancer and from Burlington County are invited to attend.
Registration is limited to the first 75 cancer survivors and their guest.
The night will feature stories of hope, a program on the importance of palliative care and the benefits of dance therapy in cancer recovery. The evening will end with free dance lessons and an opportunity to dance the night away.
To register for the program, contact Kimberly Mattson at (609) 265–5529 or [email protected].
The Burlington and Camden County Cancer Coalitions are funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Office of Cancer Control and Prevention.
