The Moorestown fifth garde Gold boys’ lacrosse team played a full slate of six games last weekend. Things got off to a slow start as Moorestown dropped its first two games against Seneca and Central Bucks, managing only two goals scored by Josh Fauvell and Steven Weissman. Peter Ladelfa and Trevor Jones minded the nets.
The team found its stride against Long Valley and earned a 4–1 victory behind goals by Josh Buck, Ryan Pozega, Ladelfa and Weissman. Judah Hicks turned in a fine performance in goal.
In the fourth game, Moorestown cruised to a 4–0 victory against Summit with goals scored by Trevor Jones, Ladelfa, Bobby Garrison and Dylan DeMarco. Cole McHugh and JT Lumley tied for the ground ball lead and the defense shut out Long Valley with Weissman in goal.
The fifth and final game of the day saw another Moorestown victory as goals by Dante Lucarini, Dan Rohrbach, Ladelfa and Fauvell (2) fueled a 5–2 victory against Flemington. Stephen Goralski played goal and Buck, DeMarco and Weissman tied for ground balls.
On Mothers Day, the team traveled to Aston, Pa. and notched 12 goals in a high-scoring affair. Leading Moorestown in the scoring column were Lucarini (2), Goralski (2), Kade Chrostowski, Ladelfa (3), Ryan Finley (2), Lumley and Weissman. Max Blank made 11 saves as the team won its fourth game of the weekend by a 12–8 margin.
