The Yellow Ribbon Club welcomed home an American hero on Sunday, May 1. A number of club members and supporters from the township came out to see CWO Manish Karnik return to his family.
Karnik served in the Army National Guard since September of 1993. He started off as a PVT and worked his way up to CWO.
Karnik has received several awards, including U.S. Army Achievement Medal, Army National Guard State Commendation Medal, Letters of Appreciation from several OIC/NCOICs for outstanding support, Sustained Superior Performance, and cash awards for DOD Civilian Position.
He requested and volunteered for deployment and his first choice was Afghanistan, but instead he was sent elsewhere in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Manish is married to Sona and they have two sons, Tanuj, 7-years-old, and Anuj, 2-years-old.
