Several Medford students are slated for recognition due to academic excellence.
The Burlington County Principals and Supervisors Association is presenting its 23rd annual Burlington County Academic Achievement Dinner on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Westin in Mt. Laurel.
Awards will be given to students who, as of the end of the first semester of the school year, represent the highest standards of academic achievement and educational excellence in school. These students, from twenty public high schools in Burlington County, are the top-ranked sophomore, junior, and senior students.
Shawnee students include sophomore Brian Delancy, junior John M. Gilligan, and senior Matthew M. Delancy.
Medford BCIT students are also on the list of award recipients, including sophomore Steven H. Sienkiewicz, junior Samuel G. Baysting, and senior Steven M. Blicharz.
BCPSA will also present two scholarships at this event, one to an eighth grade student, and one to a 1senior student.
Each school district in the county is invited to submit one nominee for each grade level. The scholarship committee is comprised of school administrators from county schools. The committee reviews teacher recommendations and student essays for the eighth grade nominees, and student interviews are conducted to select the senior recipient.
Entertainment will be provided by student musicians from the Cinnaminson High School Jazz Combo and the Bordentown High School String Quartet.
Kevin Touchey, local author, life coach, and motivational speaker will address the award recipients.
