Incumbent drops out of BOE race

Last week, it appeared as though all three incumbent MTPS BOE members would attempt to win back their seats.

Now, it appears that’s not the case.

Long time Board member, Larry Friedman, has announced he’s actually not seeking re-election this year and has withdrawn his name from the April 27 ballot.

Three candidates remain in the race for three, 3 year seats on the Board. Three candidates vying for three seats means this year’s race won’t be contested.

Incumbent Board President Don Mishler and Vice President Christina Zajac are up for re-election, as is new candidate A. Leigh Powell.

Stay tuned for Friedman’s official statement to find out why he’s decided not to run again.
