Harlem Wizards to take on Moorestown teachers this month

Come see the Harlem Wizards play your beloved Moorestown teachers, administrators, and staff, the Moorestown Magic, on March 26 at Moorestown High School.

This popular, family friendly event is running for the third year in a row and, typically, sells out.

Moorestown Magic players and coaches will be announced later this month.

In addition to a fun-filled, entertaining basketball matchup, this event includes a special half time dance show performed by the Moorestown Education Association.

During half time, a family will win a one-night stay for a family of four at Crystal Springs in Vernon, N.J. by participating in the Crystal Springs Shootout.

Two adult tickets will be pulled out of a hat and those two families will compete. The family can designate a parent or child to participate in the shootout. Each family will team up with a member of the Harlem Wizard. The one designated shooter will have to make a layup and then a foul shot. Then will pass the ball to a Wizard who must make a trick shot from half court for his team to win.

If neither team makes all three shots in three minutes, the winner will be picked out of a hat. Second prize is an autographed Wizards basketball. A certificate that can be redeemed for a free room is given to the winner at the event.

Moorestown Rita’s Water Ice will be at the event with their mascot the “Ice Guy” and will give out a coupon for a free water ice to every child.

Hot dogs, soda, water, soft pretzels, and candy will be sold.

Doors for this event open at 6:15 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. The event has free parking.

This year, to offer the best seats to all, only 1,000 tickets will be for sale. In the past, there have about 1,400 up for sale. Tickets are $15 a piece for ages 2 and up.

Tickets are on sale now for credit card users.

Go to www.harlemwizards.com, click on “events+tix.”

All online orders will be charged a $1.25 fee per ticket.

Tickets can also be purchased in person by cash or check payable to Moorestown Home and School at any Home and School meeting

In the past all tickets have sold out before the show date, so advanced ticketing is recommended.
