The petitions are in: Who will run for Moorestown BOE?

This year’s race for three open sears on the Moorestown Board of Education will be a contested one as one newcomer has submitted their name to run in the upcoming school board election.

According to the MTPS business office, all three incumbents and one newcomer submitted their nominating petition before today’s 4 p.m. deadline.

Incumbents Don Mishler, Christina Zajac, and Larry Friedman will run against newcomer A. Leigh Powell for the 3, three year seats on the Board.

The candidates will run in this year’s school board election, which is scheduled for April 27. At the polls, residents will also decide whether or not this year’s school budget will pass.

A contested race means we’ll be running a Meet the Candidates series, so stay tuned for coverage of the issues that are important to you before heading to the polls this spring.
