March music madness at the Markeim

The Markeim Art Center will be hosting its signature fundraising event next week with an evening of cocktails, food, and music from some of Philadelphia’s most prestigious groups.

The “March Music Madness” event will be held next Friday, March 11 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Markeim Art Center at 104 Walnut Street in Haddonfield. Tickets are $45 per person.

The price of a ticket includes hors d’oeuvres from Treno, beer, wine and desserts. Tickets are available for purchase through our website and at Markeim Arts Center. www.markeimartscenter.org

The event will feature a performance by Philadelphia’s own Johnny Miles and the Waywards. The electric five-piece band performs raucous rock-and-roll sets throughout the Delaware Valley. The group recently played a the Kimmel Center, The Bethlehem Musikfest, and The Philadelphia Folk Festival.

The band was named by the Philadelphia Songwriters Project as one of their 2010 international songwriting contest winners, according to Markeim representatives.

Throughout March the Markeim Art Center will also be featuring an art exhibit titled, “Influence and Confluence: South Jersey Art Professors, Students and Alumi.” The exhibit features work from Rutgers University, Stockton College and Rowan University.

The exhibit will run until April 1.
