Vehicle stolen by suspect, returned by Evesham police

By ROBERT LINNEHAN

It might not be the best idea to be driving around a stolen vehicle in Evesham Township nowadays, especially since the department has a new vehicle that can automatically run license plates to see if anything comes up.

On Feb. 28, around 3:30 p.m., an Evesham police officer was operating a patrol vehicle equipped with an Automated License Plate Reader. While on patrol the officer located a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo being operated on Greentree Road in the area of Route 73, Marlton. The officer received notification that this vehicle was listed as a vehicle stolen from Cherry Hill.

The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on the stolen vehicle and arrested a 37-year-old female suspect of Mason Road in Pine Hill.

She was charged with receiving stolen property. The recovered stole vehicle was returned to its owner.

The suspect was released pending a scheduled court hearing.
