Students at Shawnee High School are scheduled to take the High School Proficiency Assessment March 1 through 3.
Juniors, who will take the math section of the test first and the language arts section second, must pass this test in order to graduate and receive their high school diploma.
Underclass students will also be tested this week with a district-wide assessment aimed at preparing them for the HSPA.
Parents will be notified on their child’s HSPA scores in July.
If a student does not pass, they will be able to retake the section they failed during the fall or spring of their senior year.
Shawnee students have historically done well on the HSPA. Last year, 91.7 percent of students passed the math section and 97.3 percent passed the language arts section.
