Don’t get blown away

A wind advisory is in effect for the area until 5 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph are predicted with possible gusts up to 55 mph.

According to the NWS, the strongest winds will occur between 10 p.m. tonight and 5 a.m. tomorrow and will be accompanied by colder air.

During a wind advisory, motorists should use extra caution, especially those in high profile vehicles. Lightweight, outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.

Because of the wind, isolated power outages are possible.
