Members of the Hillside Elementary School Student Council in Mt. Laurel will host a Valentine’s Day Tea for area senior citizens on Feb. 16. The afternoon tea will be held in the school library at 1370 Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road beginning at 2:45 p.m.
The third and fourth-grade student council members have been busy preparing, making decorations and cards for their guests and planning the program. During the Tea, guests will be treated to a rare look at history as Stacy F. Roth of History on the Hoof presents Revolutionary Tea. An interpreter, museum educator, historian and author, Roth combines storytelling, music, and period artifacts to share the legacy of tea and its place in 18th-Century history.
The students will serve traditional tea party refreshments. Hillside’s Student Council Advisors are teachers Laurie Maccri and Carrie Nelson. In the event that snow closes school, the Tea will take place on Feb. 17.
