Explosion heard in Moorestown

The Moorestown Police Department has confirmed that an explosion heard by Moorestown residents Tuesday night occurred at a residence in Cinnaminson.

According to Moorestown Police, numerous residents inquired about the incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the Moorestown border.

Officials said the explosion occurred at a home on Edgewood Lane in Cinnaminson Township.

The house was leveled by the explosion and damage was done to surrounding homes. An elderly woman was transported to Cooper University Hospital.

PSE&G and police are still investigating the cause of the explosion to determine if it was caused by a gas leak.
