David Fleisher and Sara Lipsett were elected and sworn in as council president and vice president at last night’s reorganization meeting.
In other business, council passed on first reading an ordinance designed to cut off CHHS West students from parking on the Martin Avenue dead-end.
“The rest of Martin Avenue was posted,” Lt. William Kushina said, “this was just a little loop hole left open.”
Two ordinances, the Evesham Road Sidewalk Installation Project Phase Three and the Covered Bridge Road Reconstruction Project Phases One and Two, will save taxpayers almost $140,000.
The cost of the Evesham Road project dropped by $4,719, due to a reduction in estimated quantities as measured at the completion of the project.
The Covered Bridge Road project originally called for a full-depth reconstruction of the road. Due to the conditions of the road, found during construction, the project can be completed using a mill and overlay process rather than a total reconstruction, resulting in a significant savings to the township. The cost for the project decreased by $133,574.05 as a result of the findings.
