With the General Election around the corner, residents should prepare to cast their vote for three Evesham Township Council members, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, the county sheriff, and one Burlington County freeholder.

Democratic candidate, Mike Schmidt, will face off against Republican incumbent mayor, Randy Brown, to fill the four-year seat as mayor of Evesham during this year’s election.

Republican candidates Steven Zeuli and incumbent councilwoman, Deb Hackman, are racing against Democratic candidates Kathleen Santomero and Mark Ornstein to fill two, four-year seats opening on township council.

Councilman John McKenna, whose seat is set to expire on Dec. 31, is not running for re-election this year.

Incumbent Congressman John Adler, who represents the Third Congressional District, is running against Republican Jon Runyan. Russ Conger of the Libertarian Party, Lawrence J. Donahue of the Your Country Again party, and Peter DeStefano of the NJ Tea Party are also vying to fill the seat.

Incumbent county freeholder, Joseph Donnelly, is facing off against Democrat Aimee Belgard for a spot on the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Incumbent Burlington County Sheriff, Jean Stanfield, is running against Democrat Julius ‘Jay’ Coltre for the county sheriff’s position in this year’s election.

Voters will also cast their vote regarding a public question, statewide.

An interpretive statement explaining that question will be available on the ballot.

This year’s General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that date. Questions regarding voting may be directed to the Evesham Township Clerk’s office at 983–2900.
