Obituary: Esther B. Missel

The family and friends of Esther B. Missel of Moorestown celebrate her life and talent. Esther passed away on JuneĀ 11.

She was a graduate of Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass., attended the Wadsworth Athenaeum School of Art in Hartford, Conn., and studied fine arts at Columbia University in New York. Her passion for art and beauty was reflected primarily in oil, acrylics and watercolors. Her subjects included rural landscapes, tall ships, flowers, portraits and historical sites. She received numerous awards and her work is featured in private and public collections in the United States andĀ abroad.

She is survived by her husband Rev. Dr. Frederick F. Missel of Moorestown. Also survived by daughters Deborah Sweeney of Wilmington, Del., Gillian Colyer of Moorestown, and son Frederick F, Missel of Charlottesville, Va. She was the grandmother of Patrick J. Sweeney, Christopher A. Colyer, Elspeth D. and Kelsey F.Ā Missel.

The family and friends of Esther ask you to celebrate her life and the masterful beauty she has left us to enjoy. Funeral services and burial will beĀ private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Marlton, 08053. Arrangements are being made by Lewis Funeral Home, Moorestown.
