It’s graduation season for the Cherry Hill School District high school seniors and eighth graders, but because of the severe weather earlier in this year most students will have their school years extended or have to make up several in school days on the weekend.
Graduation ceremony dates for Cherry Hill High School East and West have already been set and can’t be changed without a great deal of difficulty, she said. Because the graduation events take place in Temple University’s Liacouras Center, the dates are pretty much set in stone, she said.
To keep both of these dates and meet the minimum number of school days required for a year, the two high schools have to hold Saturday sessions.
Cherry Hill High School East will have its graduation on Thursday, June 17 and West on Wednesday, June 16.
Both graduations begin at 4 p.m.
Three days have been added to the end of the school year, extending the year until June 22 throughout the district. One day was already made up when students attended class on President’s Day, district representatives reported. The days were added to the end of the year because of the inordinate amount of snow cancellations the district experienced this year.
In addition to the two high schools, the Alternative High School will hold its graduation at the Malberg Administration Building on Friday, June 11 at 11 a.m.
Rosa Middle School will hold its eighth grade graduation on Monday, June 21 at the Cherry Hill West Jones Gymnasium. The event will begin at 3 p.m.
Carusi Middle school will also hold its eighth grade graduation on Monday, June 21 at the Cherry Hill West Jones Gymnasium. The event will begin at 10 a.m.
Wrapping up graduation season will be Beck Middle School’s ceremony at Cherry Hill High School East on Tuesday, June 22 at 9:15 a.m.
