Are you ready for an exciting night of trick hoops and alleyoops? Join the DeMasi Middle School PTA on Monday, April 19, as the “DeMasi Dream Team” straps on their high tops and takes on the Harlem Wizards in an Evesham family fun event.
The Cherokee North Gym will be filled to capacity as the world famous Harlem Wizards, one of the best show basketball teams ever to “lace ’em up and let it fly” will attempt to show up our Dream Team, consisting of teachers and administrators from the entire school district, members of the Marlton Recreation Council, and community leaders. Some of the DeMasi team’s stars include: Mayor Randy Brown, Superintendent John Scavelli, Administrator Ms. Magulick, Principal Mr. Bree, and teachers Mr. Haldeman, Mr. Hoopes, Mrs. Shea, Mr. Comardo and others.
Year after year the Wizards entertain packed gyms and arenas from New York to Beijing. What makes the Harlem Wizards so popular the world over?
Since 1962 the Harlem Wizards have spread good will through entertainment basketball, partnering with thousands of communities to raise millions of dollars by creating improvised comedy games and wildly successful events. The Wizards team has been the playground for some of the NBA’s greatest legends like the NBA’s Connie Hawkins and Nate “Tiny” Archibald along with Hawthorne Wingo, a New York Knick. Over 20 NBA players, college greats and playground legends have dotted the Wizards’ roster.
“We were looking for a way to raise funds for the PTA that would be a win/win for all…an event that would support the wonderful programs that the PTA provides for DeMasi Middle Schoo,” said Kimberly Friedman, President of the DeMasi Middle School PTA.
The DeMasi Middle School PTA invites you to come out and join the fun on April 19, 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) at the Cherokee North Gym. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available through www.DeMasiPTA.org ($10 general admission). Don’t miss out on the fun.
