Literacy group needs volunteer tutors

Spring 2010 tutor training sessions have been announced by Literacy Volunteers of Burlington County in order to meet a continuing need for tutors.

LVBC offers training classes for tutors in basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages.

Both the daytime and evening training will be offered at the Kennedy Center located at 429 Kennedy Way in Willingboro.

Daytime classes will be held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. These Friday sessions will occur on April 16, 23 and 30 and on May 7 and 14.

Evening classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. These Thursday sessions will occur on April 15, 22, 29 and May 6 and 13.

An affiliate of ProLiteracy America, LVBC provides free tutoring to adults in reading and writing.
