Township officials have begun their annual process to decide which capital improvement projects will be a priority under the upcoming municipal budget.
Last Tuesday, Township Manager Tom Czerniecki gave a presentation to Council on what projects should be under the upcoming budget.
Officials said they are looking to put a $75,000 down payment on a bond that will allow for about $1.7 million in capital improvement projects and purchases.
Priorities that Czerniecki pointed out include the installation of solar panels on township-owned buildings, technology upgrades, neighborhood safety improvements, drainage improvements in neighborhoods, sidewalk improvements, the replacement of two Department of Public Works dump trucks and the construction of a new salt dome for snow removal purposes.
Updating township computers is Evesham’s most pressing issue, officials said. The computers it owns are outdated and difficult to update and are cutting into productivity, Czerniecki said. About half of the township’s 159 laptops are more than five years old, Czerniecki said.
Council has canceled its April 6 meeting. Council is scheduled to meet for their next regular meeting on Wednesday, April 21 at 7Â p.m.
