Employees who work in Voorhees but don’t live in the township may want to take a hard look at relocating, as township representatives announced last week it had enrolled in the state’s “Live Where You Work,” program.
The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency’s “Live Where You Work,” program offers potential homebuyers a home mortgage incentive program that provides low-interest mortgages and other perks for literally living where they work.
LWYW partners with area real estate agents and banks to offer attractive mortgage rates, flexible loan-application reviews or underwriting criteria, and down-payment and closing-cost assistance of up to 5 percent of the mortgage amount.
Mayor Michael Mignogna said the program would be a boon for people who work in the township and are looking to move into Voorhees.
