NFI receives HR Department of the Year

NFI, one of the country’s most diverse supply chain solutions companies, announced that it has received the Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year Award, an honor given annually by a prestigious human resources association which selects its winners from companies across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. NFI’s human resources department, led by Senior Vice President of HR Nancy Stefanowicz, was recognized as the top HR department in the region with an HR team of between 20 and 49 employees.

“In the three years since Nancy Stefanowicz joined NFI, she and her team have built an HR organization that has made solid contributions towards the growth of NFI,” said Sid Brown, CEO of NFI. “Our overall employee retention has increased significantly under Nancy’s leadership. NFI currently employees over 6,000 energized, talented employees, all of whom are the right people for the right job. Human resources is a strategic partner in the overall operations and management of our company, and her team’s recognition is an indication of NFI’s successes overall.”

“No HR team could be this successful without the support and help of the entire organization,” said Stefanowicz. “NFI empowers every employee to excel, and this empowerment has inspired our department to achieve great strides in a relatively short period of time.”

Three years ago the human resources department at NFI employed a staff of three; the department has grown to 27 talented and committed HR professionals. In those three years the department has instituted technological improvements including a best-in-class human capital management system by Ultimate Software, worked on improving driver recruiting and retention, and helped the organization grow both through new hires and by providing significant assistance in acquisitions.

The Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year Awards were founded in 1998 by Scott Rosen, President of the Rosen Group. His belief was that HR professionals should receive recognition for what they do, and the growth and change they produce within their organizations. Award selection is made by a panel of judges composed of seasoned HR professionals from a wide variety of corporations and associations across the mid-Atlantic region.
