• High court strikes down offender law: State Supreme Court turns down township’s efforts to create sex offender-free zones. The ruling upholds an earlier ruling from the appellate court, calling Megan’s Law an all-encompassing. The township said it would continue to review its legal options.
• BOE ushers in new era: The Board of Education welcomed several new faces at its recent reorganization, including new board members Colleen Harron-Horiates and Wayne Tarken. Incumbent Kathy Judge also reclaimed her seat, and board members Lisa Conn and Seth Klukoff were elected president and vice president.
