Voters say ‘no’ to school budget

Moorestown residents have voted down the proposed school district budget.

According to unofficial election results, there were 1,208 votes against the budget and 1,050 for it. The district had proposed a $68.8 million budget that would have increased school taxes for the average homeowner by $116 over last year.

Board of Education incumbents William A. Van Fossen III (1,244 votes) and Linda Alexandroff (1,011) were also re-elected to their posts during Tuesday’s elections. They will be joined by challenger David Weinstein (1,001) on the board. Challengers Cyndy Pappaterra (728), Stacey Fulton (596) and Dimitri Schneiberg (520) also ran for the three open spots.
