Kelly passed away Feb. 21 at the age of 86
Harlan M. Kelly of Washington, D.C., died Feb. 21. He was 86 years old. Formerly of Gloucester City, Mr. Kelly lived in Washington for more than 50 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Gloucester High School and a 1953 graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army’s 11th Security Agency Field Station 8611 in Baumholder, Germany from 1953 to 1956.
Mr. Kelly was an avid music lover, especially classical and opera. He played piano, guitar, wrote music and was a longtime member of the Washington Saengerbund, a German choral society. He was a computer programmer and also recorded audiobooks for the Blind.
He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Kelly Snyder. He is survived by four nephews, Kenneth R. Snyder (Susan Rettig) of Wynnewood, Pa, Thomas M. Snyder (Lisa Flowers) of Haddonfield, David A. Snyder (Patty) of Haddon Heights and Peter B. Snyder (Dawn) of York, PA. He is also survived by eight grand-nieces and nephews. The interment will be private.
