Obituary: Joseph “Joe” V. Gariano

Joseph “Joe” V. Gariano of Haddonfield passed away on July 30 at the age of 96. Joseph was formerly of North Jersey.

Joe was the beloved husband of Maureen (nee Ferguson); loving father of John Joseph (Jean) of Montclair, Joseph Vincent, Jr. of Rivervale, AnnJane Sullivan (Peter) of Audubon and Patricia Gariano (David Kuhn) of Audubon; He was also the treasured grandfather of seven: Kristin Gariano, Alex Gariano; Sean Sullivan, Eamon Sullivan, P.J. Sullivan, Logan Zaszewski and Gavin Kuhn. He was also the dear brother of William (Chirs) of Newtown Square, Pa.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He had been an accountant with Federal Paper Board in Montvale. He treasured his family and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Additionally, Joe possessed a great sense of humor and was known for his one-liners.

Joe’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services at 15 West End Ave in Haddonfield and again on Thursday, Aug. from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Christ the King RC Church at 29 Warwick Road in Haddonfield where his Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment, Colestown Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
