CHOP opens at Virtua Voorhees
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia announces the grand opening of the CHOP Specialty Care Center at Virtua in Voorhees. This is the latest expansion in the CHOP care network, which today has more than 50 locations throughout the region.
CHOP Specialty Care Center at Virtua is a 31,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art, facility designed to meet the needs of children with specialized care provided by CHOP physicians.
The facility has 50 exam rooms, a wide range of diagnostic testing including a pulmonary function laboratory, extensive rehabilitation services and injury prevention education, nutritional counseling and large gymnasiums for physical and occupational therapy.
The facility is adjacent to the Virtua Voorhees Hospital on Route 73.
The new office expands the Children’s Hospital services available to families in South Jersey. CHOP will now offer cardiology, gastroenterology and orthopedics services at two locations in Voorhees.
Services for pulmonology, neurology, EEG, physical therapy and occupational therapy will relocate to the new Virtua office from the existing site in Voorhees. Neonatology will also be added as a new service.
In addition to appointments with Children’s Hospital specialists, patients can schedule electrocardiograms (EKGs), echo cardiograms and other diagnostic tests. The practice is at the new Virtua Health and Wellness Center, 200 Bowman Dr., second floor, Suite D260, Voorhees.
Children’s Hospital and Virtua entered into a partnership in February 2011 that offers children and families in South Jersey access to the most advanced pediatric care at Virtua’s hospitals in Voorhees and Mount Holly.
