With election season approaching, one Voorhees Township Committee seat is up for grabs come Nov. 5.
Running unopposed in the Democratic primaries, newcomer Kurtis Stroemel will run against Republican incumbent Michael Friedman.
Friedman also ran unopposed in the Republican primaries. Stroemel and Friedman received 607 votes and 465 votes, respectively.
At this point, the deadline to file for a place on the Voorhees Township Committee ballot with Camden County has passed, but residents still have the option of writing in the name of the candidate of their choice.
Incumbent Republican Gov. Christie will be facing Democratic candidate Barbara Buono.
Additionally, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, a Democrat, and state director of the Americans for Prosperity Steve Lonegan, a Republican, will be running for the open state Senate seat in a special election on Oct. 16.

Applications for mail-in ballots should be received no later than seven days prior to the election. Those who wish to apply in-person for a mail-in ballot can do so by visiting the county clerk by no later than 3 p.m. on the day prior to the election.
For voter registration applications, residents can visit the Camden County website. Those who register to vote will be able to participate in the upcoming election as long as their application is received 21 days prior to the election.
