Kiwanis Club offers local children opportunity to go green

Children will learn the benefits of composting

The Kiwanis Club of Gloucester Township — Blackwood is set to host a composting lesson for local children.

The Kiwanis group meets at the Family Resource Center on 1324 Little Gloucester Rd, Blackwood, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Thursday: weather permitting.

This week children are asked to bring a two-liter soda bottle to learn how to create a compost bin. Participants are encouraged to bring fruit and vegetable scraps, newspaper and eggshells.

The Children’s Garden is a free activity for children Grades K-5. For more information please contact Michele at (609) 617-7204.
