One for the books
Amy Rominiecki, Seneca’s Library Media Specialist, was recently honored as the high school’s Educational Services Professional of the Year. Rominiecki also advises the school’s literary magazine, Knowledge Bowl team, the Amnesty International Club, and serves as the business manager for the Spring Musical and Fall Drama. Rominiecki said being involved in the extra- curricular activities is one way she’s been able to really connect with students.
Seneca student-athletes named to National Academic Team
Ten Seneca High School students were named to the 2017 Keith Waldman Optimal Performance Associates / NFHCA High School National Academic Squad.The program recognizes high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.50 out of 4.0, or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2017–2018 school year. The honorees are Kaitlyn Birnbohm-Kaminski, Julia Collins, Abigail Cosper, Samantha Derkas, Madison Groody, Caitlin Kazokas, Hannah Kent, Kasey Mitchell, Abigail Regn, and Linden Webb. Birnbohm-Kaminski, Derkas, Regn, and Webb have also earned Scholar of Distinction honors.
Boy Scout Troop to host fundraiser at Pic-A-Lilli Inn
Indian Mills Boy Scout Troop 47 announced there will be a fundraiser at Pic-A-Lilli Inn on Feb. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. A portion of the funds donated will benefit the troop’s 12-day backpacking trek — which challenges scouts with more than 200 square miles of northern New Mexico wilderness — at the Philmont Scout Ranch.
