After 12 years of public service, Deputy Mayor Dennis Clowney will be leaving his seat on the Harrison Township Committee at the end of the year. At the recent committee meeting, Clowney was recognized with a proclamation for her dedication to the community. Also, Clearview Middle School eighth grader Shelby Ritterson earned the title of Miss Veterans Day’s Outstanding Teen, while the high school Wind and Vocal Ensembles earn the chance to preform in front of music educators from across the state at NJMEA Conference. Deputy Mayor Dennis Clowney honored for 12 years of public service
Deputy Mayor Dennis Clowney has served on the Harrison Township Committee for 12 years, a dedication that was recognized by Mayor Louis Manzo, the committee and the community at last week’s meeting on Monday, Dec. 4. Honored with a surprise proclamation presented by Manzo, Clowney’s contributions and accomplishments during his years of selfless service to the township were acknowledged.
Clearview music ensembles earn prestigious honor to perform at state conference
Clearview Regional High School Wind and Vocal Ensembles will have the opportunity to perform for music educators from across the state at this year’s Music Educators Association Conference in February. The ensembles were two of 12 honors scholastic ensembles chosen from hundreds of schools throughout the state, a prestigious honor recognizing the highest quality of performance and skill.
Crowing confidence: Local pageant winner stands up to bullying
Shelby Ritterson, 13, won her first pageant as Miss Little Peach 2009 when she was 5 years old at the annual Gloucester County 4-H Fair. This year, the Clearview Middle School eighth-grader was crowned as the first-ever Miss Veterans Day’s Outstanding Teen, a title that will bring her to the state pageant on Jan. 27 where she will compete for the title of Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen against young women ages 13 to 17 from across the state.
