The event will take place at Lenape High School in Medford.
Gather your friends, kids, and co-workers and come out for a fun-filled day on Saturday, September 16 when the Deborah Hospital Foundation kicks off its 7th Annual 5K Run, 1-mile Walk-a-Thon, and 40-mile Bike Ride to benefit Deborah Heart and Lung Center, the region’s premier heart, lung, and vascular hospital.
This year’s event has a new location: Lenape High School. Lenape’s track offers lovely views for the Walk-a-Thon and Run, as well as providing stable surfaces great for strollers and wheelchairs. The 40-mile Bike Ride will wind through scenic Burlington County. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the football stadium and the Event kicks off at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
Each year that the Deborah Hospital Foundation’s Bohlen Mt. Holly, Medford, and Home Chapters have hosted the walk the event has grown. Last year’s 200-plus walkers, bikers and runners and over 60 sponsors raised $25,000 for Deborah Heart and Lung Center, which in 95 years has never billed a patient.
Event Coordinator Doreen Liller said: “This event keeps growing every year. I am anticipating a large turnout of walkers, bikers and runners.”
Pre-registration fees are as follows: Students, 10–18 years old, $15; 5K Run, $25; 1-Mile Walk, $20; 40-Mile Bike Ride, $50. If you register the day of the event, add $5 to each fee. All participants pre-registered by September 5 will receive a complimentary t-shirt.
Medals will be awarded in the 5K run for first overall male and female; top 3 males and females according to age group (14 and under, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60+) and the top male and female Deborah employees.
