The Medford Township Department of Recreation will offer a trip to the internationally renowned Philadelphia Flower Show on Thursday, March 8.
What better way to forget the “winter” doldrums.
“Hawaii — the Islands of Aloha,” the theme of the 2012 show, will transport participants to the enchanted islands of Hawaii — with waves of white orchids and palms welcoming guests to delight in native and tropical plants amid walls of cascading waterfalls and rumbling volcanoes.
In addition, there will be free gardening presentations and educational displays that highlight the newest gardening trends. As always, a marketplace will provide an array of gardening related treasures.
The fee of $45 includes admission to the show and bus transport to and from the convention center.
Lunch will be on your own.
The bus will depart from Bob Bende Park, located 3 miles north of Route 70 at 8:45 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m.
For a thoughtful gift idea this Mother’s Day, treat your special mom to a trip to the Big Apple on May 12 to visit the museums, take in a Broadway matinee, shop at the fabulous 5th Avenue stores, stroll through Central Park and dine at a fine restaurant or deli.
A charter bus will leave from the Bob Bende Park Building at 9 a.m. and after arriving in New York, will drop participants off either in Times Square or at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They will be picked up again at 6:45 p.m. in Times Square and will arrive back in Medford by 9:00 pm. The time in NYC is yours to do with as you wish.
The fee is $35 for transportation. Admission fees and meals are on your own. Register early for this trip, as seating is limited and is always a sell-out.
